Resolve Teams desktop client shows network offline issue

Have you ever experienced the issue with Teams desktop client which shows “Network Offline…No internet connection was found. Please reconnect and try again.” Even though the rest of program working totally fine without internet connection issue. Sometime, the Outlook Classic client may also able to sending/receiving emails. However, such an issue may caused due to several factors. In my case I’ll demonstrate a resolution to fix this issue with the corporate environment.

Solution for Teams network offline issue

If you have checked that rest of your programs or Office365 products are working fine, and most importantly that you can ping bing.com or google.com. Then you may following below steps to proceed further.

1. Press “Windows logo key + R” to open Run > then enter “inetcpl.cpl” > click OK.

2. On the prompted “Internet Properties” window > navigate to “Advanced” tab.

3. Under the “Advanced” tab > tick box “Use TLS1.2” option > click OK. (Also, you may tick box “Use TLS 1.3” if you wish to using TLS 1.3 protocol).

4. Exit your Teams desktop client and re-launch it from shortcut or Star menu to verify. By this step, your Teams desktop client should be working. (sometime, if may need to require you to re-authenticate)

Notes

Above demonstrated scenario due to MS discontinued support for TLS 1.0 and 1.1 in MS Office 365 products. If you proceed with above mentioned steps but you still unable to sign-in suggest that you go check whether there is third party VPN or proxy server were applied. Pay an attention to the error message that displayed.
