On yesterday (September 28, 2021) a new re-designed MS Paint app being rolling out to all Insider with Dev Channel via Microsoft Store. If you are a Windows Insider also in the Dev Channel try it now!

Personally, I’m waiting for this new designed MS Paint long time… After the Windows 11 came out the desired become more stronger. The re-designed MS Paint app has been completely updated the UI to match the Windows 11, including rounded corner, Mica, make it more consistent.

As the Microsoft point out that the most prominent change to MS Paint is the newly simplified toolbar with updated icon designs, a rounded color palette, and a new set of drop-down menus for tools such as brushes, stroke size, and flip/rotate controls. See below screenshot.

Except the above updates, they also updated the text tool which worth to try it. The new text tool is more end-user friendly compare the current classic version of MS Paint. As you can see from below screenshot, when you click the “A” icon from the toolbar the whole text tool option just step out makes really easy to adjust the fonts or the size of your texts.

Other, I found there a bunch of specific changes made with this new MS Paint app. For example, the context menu are rounded too and more concise as you can see the difference between the re-designed version and the current classic version from below screenshot:

Though, the re-designed MS Paint so far has not accommodated the Dark theme yet, but for sure it will be released in next couple of versions along with other changes too. Looking forward to see the final version of MS Paint ship with the Windows 11 on October 5, 2021.
