Microsoft released a new version of Teams client (Version 1.4.00.4167) along with refined UI on this week Tuesday. The distinct part is to change the left side bar color from classic “Teams purple” to white which make it more consistent with default light theme.
Personally, I’m glad to see that Microsoft made this improvement, as it makes the whole experience more intuitive rather confuses with the left side having the same color scheme with top side. As this version has been widespread, I got more user complaints about it…. Mostly because they just can’t accept the left bar losing “classic Teams purple” 😄 For part of these users I would suggest Microsoft create a third theme and call it “Default “ or “ Classic Teams purple “ 😂

Meanwhile, the Dark theme also made some refinement letting looks more “dark” then previously version. It looks perfect on my ThinkPad X390 just a pure black 🖤.
Note that Teams desktop client updates are released every two weeks and usually release on Tuesday. Only except there is a critical update is required then will jump off this schedule. For web version of Team app is updated weekly.

After this post I’ve submitted a feedback to Microsoft Teams User Feedback Forum , hope fully that this suggestion would be taken and applied to next version of Teams.
